— PWInsider.com reports that Brian “Road Dogg” James is now working full-time for WWE’s NXT division/brand after previously stepping down as co-lead writer of Smackdown. James has been at the WWE Performance Center recently, but it is unclear what his official role/title is with NXT as of yet. He did make an appearance on the Combine broadcast on the WWE network this weekend.
— James – as noted – stepped down as arguably the top writer on Smackdown after growing frustrated with the way the show was being changed after he had already put in hours writing it. Reportedly, James was spending a significant amount of time working on the show only to see it all changed by Vince McMahon hours before Smackdown would air. These frustrations ultimately led to a “breaking point” and James ended up removing himself from his old position.
