A number of new faces are expected to be popping up on NXT from going forward. First and foremost, we’ll have former Tough Enough contestant Patrick Clark appearing regularly on the show. Clark had a video package hyping his debut on the most recent NXT episode, and is going by the name Velveteen Dream. He is expected to continue doing the “Patrick Clark Experience” gimmick that he has used on past NXT shows.
We also have a number of female talent coming to NXT soon. Sonya Deville (formerly Daria Berenato), Lacey Evans, and a few other women recently appeared in a battle royal to determine a new number one contender to Asuka’s title. Those women in particular are expected to be featured on NXT more often. Don’t forget that the Women’s Tournament is also coming up this summer on the WWE Network. Known indy wrestlers like Rachel Evers (Rachel Ellering) and Candice LeRae appearing in NXT recently are likely not a coincidence. The widely-praised Japanese wrestler Kairi Hojo is also expected to have either signed, or will eventually sign, a WWE contract soon.
In addition, we also have some notable Performance Center standouts such as Kona Reeves and Heavy Machinery sticking around on the yellow brand. Competitors from the United Kingdom Championship Tournament on the Network are also going to be featured on the show going forward, but that is being done to promote their new UK-exclusive show that is coming soon. In terms of indy talent, it seems rather telling that stars such as Adam Cole and Ricochet have not signed with any company exclusively, however, those two are both highly sought-after commodities. Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis, Kyle O’Reilly, and many others are rumored to jump ship to WWE soon, but they could end up on any show. Either way, NXT is in strict rebuilding mode right now. Expect to see plenty of new faces showing up in Full Sail and in the Performance Center in the months to come.
