A 50-year-old homeless woman was crushed under a Jeep Compass car near Baba Kharak Singh Marg and dragged for almost 500 metres till the police stopped it at a barricade. The driver was a 20-year-old woman from Bareilly who was on a joyride with her friends.
The incident occurred around 8.30pm on Sunday when one Phoolwati was crossing the road opposite PVR Rivoli.
Eyewitnesses said the car came towards her at high speed from Hanuman Temple end and hit her. The woman driver stopped for a few moments but then took off again to the left, towards Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg. The speed was again high.
