8 Charges For Plainfield Area Man On Whispering Oaks: JPD

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police are trying to arrest 25-year-old Jeffery Behun in connection with a violent incident nearly two weeks ago involving allegations of strangling a woman.

Wednesday’s warrant for Behun’s arrest was signed by Will County Judge Art Smigielski. Behun lives in the 5300 block of Whispering Parks Drive, a part of Joliet near Shorewood and Plainfield.

Behun faces two counts of aggravated domestic battery and six counts of domestic battery.

According to the criminal complaint, Behun strangled the woman on March 9, grabbed her around the neck, bit her finger, struck her in the head multiple times, grabbed her about the body and bit her about the body.

The Joliet Police Department applied for this week’s warrant seeking to capture Behun, who has not been taken into custody as of Thursday afternoon. He is listed as a white man, 5-foot-9, 150 lbs with brown hair and blue eyes, according to the arrest warrant.
