COMMACK, NY — Long Island Eatz, a local food delivery service, launched in Commack and Kings Park, according to a news release.
The platform aims to “revolutionize the local online food ordering experience” for both restaurants and consumers as well as provide the community with “an affordable alternative to national brands such as DoorDash andUber Eats,” co-founder John Henderson said in a news release. The other co-founders are Jay Schnitzer and Matthew Crane.
Long Island Eatz has a website and app, “LIeatz,” on the Apple and Google Play stores.

While the service is currently limited to Commack and Kings Park, LIeatz has plans to expand to other neighborhoods “shortly,” according to Henderson.
The founders plan to expand the app to the surrounding areas like Smithtown, Hauppauge, East Northport, Northport and Huntington, a process that should begin in April, Schnitzer told Patch. The plan is to “ultimately” expand to all of Long Island, he said.

“Long Island Eatz takes pride in its commitment to supporting local restaurants and fostering a sense of community,” Henderson stated. “With the rising popularity of food delivery services, the team behind Long Island Eatz recognized the need for a platform that not only offers convenience but also prioritizes affordability for both restaurants and consumers.”
LIeatz aims to provide lower prices compared to national brands, eliminate excessive fees and offer more transparent pricing structures, Henderson said.
“The platform envisions a vibrant local economy where everyone thrives, from neighborhood eateries to families relying on affordable dining options,” Henderson wrote.
Henderson said the app features a user-friendly interface easy for both restaurants and consumers to use.

“LIeatz invites the local community to join in this food ordering journey, supporting neighborhood restaurants and enjoying affordable and convenient food delivery,” Henderson said. “As the platform continues to grow, LIeatz remains dedicated to its mission of creating a positive impact on the local dining landscape.”
A portion of profits will be donated to Long Island Cares, The Harry Chapin Regional Food Bank, the founders said.
