After leaving WWE back in 2016, Bubba Ray Dudley of the Dudley Boyz tag team decided to wrestle for Ring of Honor. He has since managed to reprise the Bully Ray character that made him a success in TNA Wrestling a few years ago. He was able to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and he was also inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame (with D-Von Dudley) back in 2014. Ray debuted for Ring of Honor earlier this year, and he later won the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships with Jay and Mark Briscoe. The eventually dropped the titles this past summer to Dalton Castle and The Boys. The Briscoes and Ray have remained a team since then.
During Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view, it appears that Ray may have suffered from a serious injury. It was reported earlier today that Ray was hospitalized after a spot that saw him take a table to his head. They were defeated on the show by Hangman Page and The Young Bucks after Jay Briscoe turned on Ray, and it looks like this may have been the moment when Ray suffered the injury. Ray’s close friend Tommy Dreamer revealed that Ray spent the night in an emergency room after the match had concluded, and it looks like Ray’s injury did not heal overnight. Ray has since put out a tweet thanking fans for their well wishes.
