Burlington County Man Killed In South Jersey Shooting: Prosecutor

CAMDEN, NJ — Authorities took a suspect into custody Tuesday following a fatal shooting of a Burlington County resident in the City of Camden, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

Myles Nicholson, 23, of Philadelphia, was charged with murder and weapons offenses in relation to the death of Stefan Shaw, 31, of Maple Shade, officials said.

Just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Camden County Police Department officers heard gunfire around 27th and Federal Streets. The officers found a vehicle that had been shot, with the victim suffering gunshot wounds, the prosecutor’s office said. Officials took Shaw to Cooper University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Later Tuesday, following an investigation, detectives took Nicholson into custody in New Castle County, Delaware, which is about 50 miles southwest of Camden. Officials placed Nicholson in a local jail with an extradition hearing pending.
