Falmouth Teachers Secure Raises In Newly Approved Contract

FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth teachers will be getting a raise under the newly approved district contract.

The School Committee and Falmouth Educators Association reached an agreement on new district contracts that cover Fiscal Year 2023 through 2025. It was approved at a May 9 School Committee meeting.

Teachers and all other employees covered by the union — with one exclusion — will get an 8 percent raise over the three year period, with a 3 percent raise coming in year one.

Teaching assistants don’t qualify for the raise as they are hourly employees, but they will also see a boost in pay as the agreement includes Cost of Living Adujustments of 3, 4 and 5 percent in years one through three.

The union has been working on these negotiations since 2021. Since the negotiations stretched into fiscal year 2023, the teachers will receive their raises for this year retroactively.
