Joaquin Wilde Returns from Injury in WWE 205 Live Debut

NXT Superstar Joaquin Wilde (fka DJZ) resurfaced this Friday night, as the former Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion made his debut on WWE 205 Live, defeating midwest rookie James Tapia.

Wilde debuted over the summer in the NXT Breakout Tournament, losing to now-Cruiserweight Champion Angel Garza in a first round upset. Shortly after, he suffered an injury breaking his eye socket during a match, forcing him to step away from the ring for over four months.

In a post on social media in November, Wilde noted that he had been medically cleared to return to action. After rehabbing at the WWE Performance Center for another month, he returned to action in a dark match prior to this week’s NXT television taping, and will be working this weekend’s live shows.
