Megan Rapinoe, John Waters tapped for new Nike collection

What do Megan Rapinoe, Binx Walton and John Waters have in common? They’re all the faces of Nike’s latest campaign. The professional athlete, model and director star in a capsule collection from Nordstrom vice president Olivia Kim, who teamed up with the athletic apparel brand.

Kim is known in the fashion world as a creative force as well as a street-style-worthy dresser, so it was only a matter of time until she would create a collection of her own. The brand announced Nike x Olivia Kim Thursday, Elle reports, calling the collection a fuse between “’90s subculture in New York where DIY fashion reigned the streets and youth culture everywhere was reclaiming their childhood through sartorial expression.”

Entitled “No Cover,” the collection is an homage to club-hopping in the ’90s, when the only fee at the door was dressing the part. Kim’s nostalgia for this trendy period — which has seen a resurgence recently — stems from growing up in New York, and she translated her love of fresh, colorful styles worn by rave and hip-hop kids into a current collection of clothing and sneakers evocative of those times.

The styles include a brightly colored puffer coat, fleece hoodie, beanie and fanny pack, which range from $32 up to $240. Of course, the shoes are the focus, with remakes of classics like Nike Air Force 1, Air Mowabb, Air Footscape, Air Max 98 and Air Jordan IV in show-stopping prints and colors, priced from $120 to $190.
