Scotch Plains Man ID'd As Person Fatally Hit By Train In Fanwood

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Authorities have identified the man fatally hit by New Jersey Transit’s Raritan Valley train on Thursday night in Fanwood.

Paul B. McCormac, 53, of Scotch Plains, was identified as the victim fatally hit by a Raritan Valley Line train 5150 near the Fanwood Station, said NJ Transit authorities

The train had left Raritan at 6:49 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Penn Station New York at 8:14 p.m.

There were no reported injuries to the 100 customers or crew on board.

Raritan Valley Line service was suspended in both directions.
