Services Set For Montco Father Killed In Turnpike Crash; $50K Raised

WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP, PA — More than $51,000 has been raised for the family of a young Montgomery County father who was killed in an accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in late February.

Marcus G. Pochettino, 38, lived in Lafayette Hill and was survived by his wife and two young children.

The GoFundMe has received massive community support, drawing 427 donations in under a week and far outrunning its $15,000 goal.

‘He was a man of never-ending fun and tremendous joy,” his obituary notes. “He was kind, compassionate, and gentle. He was up for any dare or challenge, and could always be goaded into having a good time. He had a quick, sarcastic wit that could diffuse any situation and a dry sense of humor. And he always had time, love, and attention for his children (and all the children in the neighborhood).”

Services will be held Thursday, March 7 at Our Mother of Consolation Catholic Church on 9 E. Chestnut Hill Avenue in Philadelphia. Visitation will begin at noon, followed by a mass at 1:00 p.m.

Attendees are asked to dress in memory to Marcus by wearing “your brightest pastels, quirkiest plaids, and maybe even be slightly mismatched in his honor.”

In addition to the GoFundMe, donations can also be made directly to scholarship fund funds for the children at Ugift529.com. Charles’ code is 43E-688 and Sebastian’s is K4W-E9P.
