Tony Khan has revealed details on the upcoming Owen Hart Cup tournament.
On Wednesday’s Dynamite, Khan announced that the "opening ceremonies" of the Owen Hart Cup tournament will begin at Double or Nothing on May 28. The tournament itself will be held in Canada, and matches will be held at AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Forbidden Door event on June 25. The tournament finals will take place in Calgary on July 15, which is currently labeled as a House Rules show at the Saddledome.
The first Owen Hart Cup tournaments, one for men and one for women, took place last year in conjuction with Dr. Martha Hart and the Owen Hart Foundation. Those tournaments featured Adam Cole defeating Samoa Joe and Britt Baker defeating Ruby Soho in the finals to become the first-ever tournament winners.
AEW previously announced a tour of Canada which will begin at Forbidden Door in Toronto, and will run through July 15.
